Bright! Bold! Balat! (27x35 cm / 11x14)

If Istanbul is a surprisingly colorful city, the most colorful neighborhood just might be Balat, along the shores of the Golden Horn. 

Filled with pre-Ottoman houses, its brightly painted palette has been home to the city's Jewish, Greek, and Armenian residents. 

We lived here for a month, and I never got tired of walking the brightly colored streets.
