La Crema, Up in Flames

Valencia, Spain's Las Fallas Festival is one of the most fascinating I've seen. 

The ten-day festival ends in a conflagration of fire as the carefully sculpted papier-mâché sculptures are consumed by orange flames. 

I took this image light on the final night — known as La Crema — as ash and smoke swirled around me creating an otherworldly feeling. 

Hopefully, this image captures that feeling!
